Washington State releases proposal to dam premier wildlife area

On June 8th Washington State unveiled plans to build the Crab Creek Dam costing taxpayers $3 Billion, flooding 28,000 acres.

The Columbia Institute and CELP have analyzed Washington State’s report and recommendations. We find the proposal to drown Crab Creek unacceptable. Please find our analysis here.

Black Rock Follies

At $4.2 billion in construction expenses and $78 million in annual operating (O&M) costs, the Black Rock dam-reservoir proposal is simply too costly for state and federal taxpayers. As to annual operating costs, Black Rock's O&M would exceed current Yakima Project expenses at least tenfold.
